Will sony repair my ps3 if my warrenty sticker is off?

I took my warrenty sticker off to get Modern Warfare 2 out because of the YLOD. My warrenty is up but will sony charge me more for opening up my ps3 to try and fix it.

If your warranty has finished it makes no difference.
If your warrenty is expired then it makes no difference
No they wont charge u but they will charge ur ps3 to be fixed for 140 bucks which is a rip off
Holy crap.
Why would they? The entire point of a warranty sticker is to VOID YOUR WARRANTY if you open the console.
