I just bought a PS3 80GB because the only slim in the store I bought it from had a defective ps3 slim. I tried the 80GB everything is fine but when I eject the disc I hear some kind of scratching noise and it always leaves smudges on the discs and my old 40GB never did that. So I’m calling Sony later today but what do you guys think?
I’m thinking about just waiting for my warranty to be up because when you have your PS3 repaired you only have a 90 day warranty after that. Do you think they’d make the exchange 10 months down the line?

I need to break my ps3 and make it look like a accident please help.
More info Below
Ok so, I got the YLOD and sent my ps3 in to be repaired thru a waranty by toys r us, i got it back
and its broke again, i dont want to do this every time, i have only had it back 2 weeks, i heard that places that do repair work dont use sony approved replacment parts, IDK if thats true or what but, i just dont trust they will repair it to full working order, and that it will just break again. however my warranty does cover "Accidental Damage from Handling" and when i bought the warranty the manager sold it as "no questions asked" saying if something happend no matter what they will fix it.
so basically im looking for ways to break it beyond repair so i can get my money back and buy a new PS3.
I was considering the pooring soda inside of it while unpluged and saying i spilt it, or something like that think that will work? please help
my main concern is that i will send it in and get back only to have it break again. im looking to do enough damage so that they wont bother to repair and will instead replace

When my PS 3 is plugged in to my TV, nothing happens, I have tried every wire, bought new ones, nothing, so I want to send it in for service (my warranty is expired). Has anyone had a similar problem and had it repaired by Sony? How much did it cost?

Will Sony repair my ps3 if the warranty seal is not intact? I’m willing to pay the 0 to have it fixed but will the voided seal make them reject the repair?

i want it soo much but i afraid about the ylod, and the malfunction thing. as here in malaysia, it is not officially sale so no 1 year warranty at all. the ps3 slim price is too pricey. if broken, im not sure if i afford to repair the ps3 (pricey for the repair fee). should i get othe thing, maybe ipod touch? or a brand new nokia xpressmusic phone. i already got a modified psp 2000. already got a modify ps2 slim for 4 years and still working till now. please help me!!!

This is the THIRD time my PS3 has broken! Talk about a low failure rate! I bought a 80 GB backwards compatibility PS3, with a 2 year warranty, approximately 1 year and 9 months ago. (My warranty is still in effect)
3 Months ago the yellow light of death appeared for the first time. So we sent it to "Asurion" for repair. We got it back, only to have break again within the same week. We repeated this up process 3 times so far. (4th time maybe) All the repairs were free of charge, considering our warranty. Enough was enough, I called Asurion (PS3 repair company) and told them how my PS3 breaks only a week after the repairs. I asked them if a new PS3 was possible, they said "yes, only if the problem is unfixable. But in your case, it is fixable and no replacement is necessary." After breaking 3 times, I’m starting to think my PS3 is unfixable. I’m afraid my PS3 WILL get the YLOD for the fourth time. At that point, or right now, could I get a new PS3? This old one just keeps getting the YLOD. BTW I keep my PS3 in a well ventilated area, and handle it with care all the time.

READ THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!…
I’m getting my XBOX repaired and it’s been having a lot of problems (i mean A LOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) 1. it would scratch my discs and i wouldn’t move my console 2. It wouldn’t even let me play XBOX games!
So Microsoft is repairing my system, after it’s repaired it’ll be with a 1 year warranty. So if this one breaks i may be able to return it and get 0 back from them. I would spend that on a Playstation 3 but My cousin said Playstation 3 isn’t as good as Xbox 360 (he owns a PS3) i was confused because 1. PS3 has Blue Ray 2. I don’t need a 100 foot Ethernet cable to play online 3. Playstation 3 is free online play!
PLEASE HELP! IF I DO GET 0 back should i get a XBOX 360 or a new Playstation 3? i need to know by November 11 because that’ when this game i want is coming out and i want it like on the first or 2nd day. THANKS!!!!
