Should I buy a Playstation 3?
My Xbox 360 got the red ring a little while ago, and I really don’t want to deal with sending it to Microsoft to get repaired. I’ve even heard stories about people getting the red ring multiple times after getting it repaired. I don’t want that to happen.
Right now I’m considering just buying a Playstation 3, and selling my 360 games (and using the money to buy the same games for PS3). Does anyone have any reasons why this is/isn’t a good idea?

I think you should get the PS3.
Playstation Network is free compared to Xbox Live Silver and Gold.
PS3 has SixAxis (which is fun :] ) and the Xbox 360 doesn’t.
To me, the PS3 has better graphics. (I have poor eyes but i say the PS3 is better)
PS3 has had somewhat an equivalent to the Red Ring of Death BACK THEN with the Emotion Engine thing. But it doesn’t have that problem anymore.
I think the design of the PS3 is better than the Xbox 360.
Blue-ray :] Even though some people think this is a piece of crap addition, Blue-ray has more capacity so games can be larger, better, and faster :]
The PS3 can also play HD-DVD
Overall I think the PS3 is better than the 360.
The 360 however does have more games, because:
It was released before the PS3
The 360 is easier to make games on
But from my POV, go with the PS3 :]
I have a ps3 and i think the xbox is a lot better.
PROS
1. The technical power of the Cell
2. Blu-ray: more space (52G) is only a good thing
3. PlayStation is still the leader in the gaming industry
4. PSX, PS2 backwards compatibility (huge library of games)
5. Strong 3rd-party support
6. Controller: motion-sensing addition only a good thing
7. Online play (though still lackluster)
8. Standard harddrives
9. 1080p high definition gaming
10. Web browsing, just like the PSP
11. Connection to the PSP to enhance gameplay
CONS
1. Graphics arent that good, xbox 360 graphics are better.
2. Blue-Ray: too expensive storage medium
3. Size: the thing is big
4. High game prices
5. Architecture: Cell is too unique and could cause developer problems
6. No rumble
7. Even with redundancy, PS3 might have high defects at launch
8. Despite its strengths, the PS3 will only be marginally better than its competitors

Ps3 has MUCH MUCH MUCH better graphics for example mgs4, killzone 2, grand turismo, infamous, uncharted 1+2, and more.
Ps3 now has equal online to xbox live

Ps3 having high deficiency rates. The ps3 has the LOWEST elrate in all the industry. Ps3’s almost NEVER break down.
How do I know this? I got both consoles. I bought my ps3 after my xbox broke for the 4th time. (seriously). I think I never should have bought a 360.
