playstation 3 repair warranty?
I sent my ps3 to sony for repairs. my warranty is out so I had to pay the 150. What keeps my money safe? Do they add another warranty on their work? I would hate for the BD to stop working after a couple months and having to pay the 150 again. Just wondering if they add a new warranty so if anything happens to it again within the next year or at least a few months or something. Thanks.
how about someone answering that has done this. Since everyone’s breaks after a year I know a lot of people know this answer already. Thanks
I sent it back to Sony. Not a small place. And no my fax are not wrong they said over 75% fail if not the first year then guaranteed the second. I am a fanboy but it’s sad they make such crappy equipment.

Sony PS3s have a total failure rate of 0.02% compared to the 360s 16% (previously 33%)…
your ‘facts’ (not fax) ARE wrong…Neither console has a 75% failure rate but the 360s is 800% larger than the PS3s.
Warranty’s can be anywhere from 1 month+ some professional places will average 3 months i would think (this is what i would expect Sony to give) unless you pay extra.
no clue
best way to find out is playstaions support site
either in the knowledge base or by emailing them the question
they answer back by the next day
i’ve had mine for nearly 2 years and it’s not broken once, and everyone else who i know who has one has never complained about any failures after the first year so you’re ‘facts’ are wrong there.
the place you have taken it for repairs should offer a warranty with their work (unless it’s a dodgy place) and they can be anything from 1 month to 18 months I would think anything larger and you’ll probably be charged for it too.
I think its a 90 day warranty on the refurbished unit. You can always call them and ask.
I’ve had mine for over a year. Still as good as the day I bought it.
List your source that said this "over 75%" nonsense. Besides, who else is gonna be able to fix this machine properly? Sony knows they got you by the balls. And its not like the 360 is any better.
you could always fix it yourself, $70 for a new laser on ebay and it can be changed in 15 minutes
