Could Target use serial number to give me a receipt, since Sony needs it to repair the item?
I bought the PS3 less than a year ago and I know the exact date of the purchase and from which Target store it was from. The PS3 needs repair and they need the receipt to repair for free. I can’t find the receipt, even though I have the PS3 box, which contains the serial number. Could I give the Serial Number to Target so that they can give me a copy of the receipt? I need it so that I can send it to Sony so that they can fix it. Please HELP!!!

I’m definitely not guaranteeing this will work, but it’s worth a shot.
The person you’ll want to ask for is the GSTL, or the Guest Service Team Leader. Recently, Target has moved toward a lower level postion called a GSA, and that person may not be able to help you, so be sure you can talk to the first one I mentioned.
They should be able to log into the computer into the POS (point of sales). Here, by inputting the date of the transaction and the serial number, they should be able to pull the receipt up. (If for some reason the date you remember is wrong, telling them the card number you purchased it with would also work.) While they won’t be able to print you a traditional receipt, they can give you a printout with the date and receipt numbers which Sony should definitely be able to work with. The only concern I have at this point is how far the POS goes back. It may only go back 3 months, which is how long a receipt is valid for.
If that’s the case, you may be able to talk to corporate. Any team member should be able to get you a hold of that current number.
