My sister recently took her laptop into a computer repair shop. On the receipt that came back afterward, it said the hard drive failed because of errors, so they took it out and replaced it with a new hard drive. They gave her back the old hard drive. The old hard drive matches the requirements for a Playstation 3, its 160gb, SATA, 5400 rpm, and 2.5”. My current hard drive in my Playstation 3 is only 40 gb, and it’s almost full. If I was to put my sister’s old laptop hard drive into my Playstation 3, would it be reformatted and work in the console despite it failing in her laptop? I want to try, but I don’t want the hard drive to screw up my Playstation or anything.
