The actual physical portion of the HDMI is broken off so don’t say maybe your hooking it up wrong. I was wondering the cost of fixing it around at a local hardware store since Sony charges 150 dollars for a fix. I called local repair shops I but had a hard time finding ones that did videogame repair and I am waiting for one to get back at me. If you don’t know, don’t post or I WILL REPORT YOU for spam. If you had your HDMI port fixed on your TV out of pocket, feel free to post since that may help in determining the price.
If you know where a site is where you can find hardware parts like HDMI ports and connectors then feel free to post them.

I have recently suffered a Yellow light of death on my ps3 and would like to know my options without buying a new ps3. The warranty is already passed and in that case am thinking about DIY as there are several video tutorials on youtube of how to do so. It involves re-soldering the GPU.
If I did successfully repair my ps3, will this be temporary or permanent solution to the problem?

My Xbox 360 got the red ring a little while ago, and I really don’t want to deal with sending it to Microsoft to get repaired. I’ve even heard stories about people getting the red ring multiple times after getting it repaired. I don’t want that to happen.
Right now I’m considering just buying a Playstation 3, and selling my 360 games (and using the money to buy the same games for PS3). Does anyone have any reasons why this is/isn’t a good idea?
